Your Monthly Bloom

Garden Journal

A NEW BLOOM EVERY MONTH

Bring creativity into your life.

Hello friends, I thought I would kick this Spring off with a monthly newsletter about what is blooming in my garden and how it inspires me to create. Being inspired by nature has opened my eyes to notice the small things around us. I feel in our busy world we tend to miss these little moments. I would love to find a way that we can connect and learn to create in everyday life. I know not everyone is an artist but just taking a moment to start noticing what’s around you. I try to encourage everyone to find some way to create and to bring art into their life. Stop worrying about how good the painting is in the end and enjoy the act of making it. Grab a little sketchbook and start playing! If you would like to join me on this journey of painting from nature then I would love to see what you come up with. I’m starting a hashtag for instagram called #yourmontlybloom

I also have a link below to a video showing you how I take my sketches and create a painting from them.

If your not an artist then I hope you enjoy reading these monthly newsletters. I’ll also be sending a link to a free download. You can print my little sketch and hang it on your fridge or give it away as a card. My goal is to help bring the joy of creating into your life.

Daffodil(Narcissus)

Also known as Paperwhites. These lovely florals are the first to bloom each spring. In addition to the classic yellow varieties, there are also white daffodils found in several species in the Narcissus genus. Narcissusis a complicated genus of plants, and the species and cultivars tend to be grouped into classes known commonly as "daffodils," "jonquils," or "paperwhites,"

Finding Inspiration

Painting from nature lets you explore and is a great way to practice and play. Sometimes I find a new color palette I love, or new marks and line work. The magic in picture making happens when we are just playing and not worrying about how good the artwork is. I encourage you to take some pencils, or watercolor paint and pick your favorite new blooming flower and just have fun!
